JoJo’s Journey: How Photobiomodulation (Laser) Therapy Helped This Corgi Find Her Stride

JoJo, a 5-year-old Corgi, came to our integrative medical center on August 7, 2024, seeking help for rear-end weakness and mobility issues. Diagnosed with hip dysplasia in July 2024, she had been struggling with lameness in her right rear leg despite treatment with NSAIDs and gabapentin from her primary care veterinarian. JoJo was facing difficulty transitioning from a seated position to standing, dragging her lower body and back legs, and had lost the ability to engage in her usual activities, like jumping on and off furniture or running.

Her owner was eager to enhance JoJo’s comfort and strength, hoping to improve her mobility. After a comprehensive evaluation, we developed a personalized treatment plan focused on photobiomodulation (laser therapy), scheduling sessions weekly to bi-weekly.

The results were truly remarkable. After just seven sessions, JoJo’s owner reported significant improvements in her quality of life. JoJo was no longer dragging her legs, could easily jump to the door when the doorbell rang, and had a much-enhanced ability to stand up from a sitting position. Her renewed energy and mobility marked a clear path toward recovery, and she was enjoying life once again. Please continue along to view JoJo’s journey below!
